Privacy Policy for India Prior Price

1. Information We Collect

Information received from Shopify

When a merchant installs or uses the App, we may receive and process information from Shopify that is necessary to provide the App’s functionality, including:

• Shopify store domain and installation information.
• Authentication and session information required to securely connect the App to the merchant’s Shopify store and authenticate requests made from the Shopify admin.
• Product and variant information, including Shopify product and variant identifiers, product and variant titles, SKU, current price, compare-at price, availability status, and related timestamps.
• Discount information, including Shopify discount identifiers, discount type, title, status, summary, applicable products or variants, discount conditions, values, start and end times, and related discount configuration.
• Product and discount webhook information required to detect and process relevant changes.

The App currently requests Shopify permissions for products, discounts, and the App Proxy used by the storefront feature. The App does not request Shopify customer or order data permissions.

Store-owner information and shop settings

Shopify may display baseline access to store-owner contact and location information. Our app does not query the store owner's phone number, physical address, billing address, or account-owner profile for price-history features, and has no dedicated phone or address fields in its database.

Our direct shop-configuration queries read the development-plan flag, public plan name, shop timezone, currency code and money-display format. The shop domain is supplied by authenticated Shopify sessions. We store the domain, development/test classification and timezone with installation records; currency-display settings are held temporarily to format the admin display. We also store product-price history, discount records and operational data described above.

Authentication uses Shopify's session storage. Its standard schema includes optional admin user ID, first name, last name, email, locale and account-status flags if Shopify supplies online-user session information. This app uses offline access by default. We do not use these optional identity fields for marketing or query owner phone/address fields. Support email is processed only when you contact us. Technical infrastructure logs may contain request metadata such as IP addresses; do not send sensitive information in support messages.

Information generated by the App

To provide price-history and prior-price functionality, the App generates and stores operational information such as:

• Historical product and variant price observations.
• Price-change events and timestamps.
• Discount history and discount-related price signals.
• Catalog and discount synchronization timestamps.
• Webhook processing identifiers, topics, processing status, retry information, timestamps, and error information where applicable.

Support communications

If you contact us for support, we may receive your email address and any information you choose to include in your message.

2. Information About Store Customers

India Prior Price is not designed to collect Shopify customer account, order, payment, shipping, or billing information.

The App does not request Shopify customer or order API scopes.

The storefront prior-price block uses product or variant context to provide prior-price information. It is not designed for advertising, buyer profiling, or cross-site behavioral tracking.

3. How We Use Information

We use information collected through the App to:

• Authenticate the merchant and maintain the App’s connection to Shopify.
• Synchronize relevant product, variant, price, and discount information.
• Monitor price changes and maintain price-history records.
• Determine and display prior-price information when the required history is available.
• Process Shopify webhooks and keep App data synchronized.
• Operate, maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the reliability of the App.
• Respond to merchant support requests.
• Comply with applicable legal requirements and Shopify platform requirements.

We do not sell or rent merchant or customer personal information.

We do not use information collected through the App for third-party advertising or cross-context behavioral advertising.

4. How We Share Information

We may share or make information available only where reasonably necessary to operate the App, including with:

• Shopify, as the ecommerce platform through which the App operates.
• Infrastructure and hosting providers used to run the App and its database.
• Email or support-service providers used to receive and respond to support communications.
• Government authorities, regulators, courts, or other parties where disclosure is required by law or reasonably necessary to protect legal rights.

Service providers process information only as necessary to provide services used in operating the App.

5. Data Retention

While the App is installed, we retain product, variant, price, discount, and related historical records as needed to provide the App’s price-history functionality.

Completed webhook-processing queue records are normally deleted after seven days. Failed or unresolved processing records may be retained longer when necessary for troubleshooting.

When the App is uninstalled, Shopify authentication session records for that store are deleted.

Historical store, product, price, and discount records may remain after uninstall until we receive Shopify’s applicable shop data-erasure request or until the information is otherwise deleted in response to an appropriate request.

When Shopify sends the App a valid shop/redact request, the App deletes the associated stored shop installation data and related product, price, discount, webhook-processing, and session records.

Merchants may also contact us to request deletion of information associated with their store.

6. Privacy Requests

Depending on applicable law, individuals may have rights relating to their personal information, including rights to request access, correction, deletion, or restriction of certain processing.

Shopify provides standardized privacy-request mechanisms for App Store apps. India Prior Price is configured to receive Shopify’s mandatory:

• customer data request notifications,
• customer data deletion notifications, and
• shop data deletion notifications.

Because the App does not request or maintain Shopify customer records as part of its intended functionality, customer-specific requests may result in no customer data being found in the App.

7. International Processing

Prior Price Labs is operated from India.

Shopify and the service providers used to host and operate the App may process information in countries other than the country where a merchant or other individual is located. Where applicable, such processing is subject to the safeguards and legal requirements that apply to the relevant service provider and processing activity.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information used by the App against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration.

However, no method of transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the App, our data practices, legal requirements, or Shopify requirements.

When we make changes, we will update the effective date shown at the top of this policy.
